Elaine Lynest lived in the Midwest until moving to the Pacific Northwest and now resides in the small but vibrant community of Enumclaw, in the shadow of majestic Mount Rainier.

Passionate about art since childhood, she began winning statewide awards in high school, and was awarded a full college scholarship. Within a few years she was showing in juried art shows across the Midwest, while also beginning a career as an award winning illustrator and graphic designer.

Elaine has had three one man shows of her etchings and paintings: McCaullie Gallerie in Cedar Rapids Iowa, Gallery 1812 in Woodstock, Illinois, and the Arts Alive! Gallery in Enumclaw, Washington. She also developed a teaching program for children and adults, opened and taught at the “Creative Station” in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
 Artwork by Ms. Lynest is in business and private collections across the United States.
Textile designs have been sold around the world under the Starlyne Studio name. She recently finished the illustrations for a children’s book, “Where Everything Belongs” and several book cover illustrations.

Wanting to share her love of the arts, Ms. Lynest served on the board of Arts Alive!, an all volunteer group that raises funds for scholarships and grants. She served as chairperson for 4 years, and is still active on the board. Believing that the arts have an important role to play in all communities, she has recently volunteered to a board position on the City of Enumclaw’s Arts Commission.

Although her first love is watercolour, Elaine also works in oil, pastels, pen and ink, acrylic, silk painting, batik, intaglio printing, wood block printing, colored pencil and photography.
