Learn To Knit 

You will learn the basics:  How to read the label on a skein of yarn, how to cast on and bind off, knitting and purling, increases and decreases, picking up dropped stitches and reading patterns.

 Provided:        A binder with helpful hints

 No previous experience required.

Maximum 5 students

 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Feb 10th

Learn how to read labels, casting on, making swatches using knit and purl stitches, using a gauge and casting off

Feb 17th

Learn how to increase and decrease on swatches, picking up dropped stitches, choose a project for next lesson

Feb 24th

Learn how to read pattern,  begin project

Mar 3rd  

Learn how to finish the item and review lessons

 

Supplies:          Light colored worsted weight yarn (Lion Brand Wool Ease)

                        Can be found at The Benj. Franklin or Joann’s

                        Size 8 or 9 needles (circular or straight)

                        Gauge 

                        Crochet hook (size 5)

                        Pencil and paper

                        Darning needle

                        Yarn

                        Scissors

                        Markers
