color usuage.
This will be a
way to learn
from one another
and possibly
open the door to
experience
something new.
Everyone will be
able to
contribute since
everyone uses
color in their
work - including
black and white.

purchase for
display in
patient areas of
the new
hospital. All
qualified
submissions must

Eligibility:
During the
review process
emphasis will be
place on images
by photographers
currently
residing in the
Puget Sound
Region.

Northwest
imagery
including
landscapes and
nature with an
emphasis on the
Enumclaw Region.
Images can
include animals
in the
background if
considered part
of farming or
equestrian
nature.

Wiegardt
Watercolor
Workshop
April 12-16,
9am to 4 pm
Mr. Wiegardt
returns again
this year for a
workshop at
Greenriver
Community
College,
Enumclaw Campus.
Last years
workshop was a
great success
with attendees
raving about how
wonderful it was
and how much
they learned.
This is a five
day workshop for
$275 per person
with a maximum
of 20 students,
so space is
limited.

Calendar Production
Arts Alive! is putting
together an Enumclaw
Plateau inspired 2011
calendar with artwork by
local artist.
We are looking for
original artwork
portraying the Enumclaw
Plateau - Enumclaw,
Buckley, Wilkeson,
Carbonado and
Cumberland. Twelve
pieces of art will be
selected by jury
process, winners will be
notified by May 15th.

Specialty Exhibits at
Gallery
The Gallery is opening
up a wall to exhibit the
work of local artists.
Every other month we
will post a subject,
paintings, photography,
fiber or hangable metal
art that personify the
subject will be hung in
the gallery. There is a
hanging fee of $20 per
piece, no commission on
sold art. A reception
for the artists will be
held for every exhibit.
Art for the upcoming
exhibit must be in the
Gallery by March 20th.
and will remain in the
gallery until May 14th.
Artists reception will
be held April 16th, 6
pm.
The first subject is. .
. ANIMALS.

NEW! Children's Art
Classes
Art classes for children
will be held on Fridays
for ages 11-18 from
2:00-3:00 and for ages
5-10 from 3:15-4:15.
There is a fee of $15
per
class. This covers a
$10 instruction fee and
$5 materials fee. A
wide
variety of art mediums
will be explored.
Please bring an old
shirt to
minimize damage to
clothes as students
paint, ink, sculpt, and
draw.
Students will also
explore different
periods in art history,
develop
brainstorming skills,
improve creativity,
learn to talk about art,
increase fine motor
skills, and organize art
elements to create well
crafted art projects.

Local artist, Susan
Payne, paints with an
emotional flair, a twist
of the hand, a swish of
the brush, and lively
accents of color. Her
work is a reflection of
her personal feelings
about her life and the
things she sees. Susan
Payne's work is
exceptionally direct and
beautifully rendered.
Susan also has a
wonderful sense of
design. An artist
reception for Susan
Payne will be held at
City Hall in Enumclaw
from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00
p.m. on March 12, 2010.
Gallery 2010 is located
at Enumclaw City Hall,
1339 Griffin Ave. Hours
for the exhibition space
are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday through Friday.
City Hall is closed on
national holidays and
Tuesdays for municipal
court proceedings. For
