ED KONVALIN

Picture
Art has been a predominate influence throughout Ed’s education and he’s spent 30 years pursuing various interests in arts and crafts.  In 2000, Ed rediscovered a passion for creating hand-crafted functional pottery. As this interest blossomed into a serious endeavor, Ed established a small studio at his home in Buckley, WA.   Working out of his studio, Ed creates high-quality, handcrafted stoneware pottery, with the goal of providing attractive and functional items for people to use and enjoy in their everyday lives.

Ed has participated in numerous pottery workshops presented by internationally recognized potters such as Steven Hill, Matt Long, Mark Shapiro and Sequoia Miller,

Ed draws his inspiration from the diverse colors and textures that abound in the Pacific Northwest. As a creator of functional pottery, Ed finds the greatest satisfaction in people’s enjoyment and use of each created object.

The pottery created by Ed has been shown at various venues throughout California’s San Francisco bay and Washington’s Puget Sound areas. He also is a regular participant of “Artists in Action” at the Washington State Fair, both Spring and Fall

All classes and events listed are held in the creative space of the Arts Alive Gallery.
