The older I get, the more difficult it is to write about my own work, however the less I am able to articulate what I do, the more I trust in my process. I am enamored of the journey, the creation of a piece of art. No matter how much I know about the medium I choose to work in and the subject matter, there is always an element of discovery while putting it all together. The more I create the more I learn, the more I learn the more I can create. I enjoy working in watercolor, pastels, oil and graphite. It’s hard for me to pick a favorite medium, many times it is the subject matter that dictates which medium I use. There are times when I have projects going in several different mediums at the same time. My subject matter is varied, but I like to work from actual objects in front of me or from my own sketches and photos. |
